Sony and Square Enix previewed the World of Grymoire Shines tonight, releasing a new E3 trailer before the event’s big debut. Designed to introduced Final Fantasy to a new generation of gamers, The World of Final Fantasy is set to release in North America for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita on October 25, 2016.
Sony debuted the English-language trailer, offering fans their first glimpse of the game. The new installment will feature iconic Final Fantasy monsters and creatures, as well as a few adorable heroes to follow along.
Square Enix detailed the trailer stating that it, “expands the FINAL FANTASY universe for a new generation of players while also providing long-time players a nostalgia-filled journey to the series’ roots.”
In the new game players lead a pair of twins, Reynn and Lann, through the land of Grymoire on a search to rediscover their lost memories. Throughout their adventure, players will collect, raise and battle adorable beings of classic FINAL FANTASY lore, including cactuar, chocobo and behemoth, to create customizable, strategic tower combinations to take on the most challenging of opponents.
The game will be a brand-new title in the FINAL FANTASY franchise, set to combine classic RPG gameplay mechanics with new and imaginative toy-like visuals. It will be up to the player to capture and raise the familiar beasts found throughout the land to discover alternate forms and learn new abilities.
Fans who preorder the day one edition of WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY will receive the legendary Sephiroth as a summon to aid them in battle.
The announcement comes just a few hours after Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XII will be re-releasing in NA on the PS4. The game will offer new job-systems and new a new score, along with an HD upgrade, that wasn’t available at the first NA launch.
