Final Fantasy fans can return to Ivalice in a special version of Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. The game is more than just an HD remaster, it has a lot of content that wasn’t available in the western release.

The new remaster Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age was announced for the PS4 today, the title will give western audiences the first opportunity to experience the Zodiac Job System.

That new system offers a 12-job character progression system that first introduced in the 2007 title, FINAL FANTASY XII INTERNATIONAL ZODIAC JOB SYSTEM.

Additional features of the new installment include HD remastering, including characters and movie scenes fully remastered in high-definition. There will be true 7.1 surround sound, including high-definition voicing and newly recorded background music utilizing the current generation of sound production.

Players will also have the option to switch between the original and the newly remastered soundtrack, so don’t go getting upset with the change.

There is also a trial mode where players can take on monsters and enemies in up to 100 successive battles. New, modern gameplay advancements were added as well, including PlayStation 4 system trophy support and share functionalities. The game will also feature auto-save and shortened loading times over the original release. Players will also have the chance to find the same hunts, battles, and mini-games that made the first game so popular.

If you are attending E3 this year, you can get a chance to play the game. The title will be available at the Square Enix booth at the event this year.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will be coming to the PlayStation 4 in 2017, but an exact date was not released at this time. The original game released back in 2006 for the PlayStation 2.
