Dell launches new 2-in-1 lineup, including new Inspiron 7000
During Dell’s presentation at Computex 2016, the company introduced a new line of Inspiron 2-in-1 laptops. The new devices include the Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1, the world’s first 17-inch 2-in-1 laptop on the market.
The newly designed 2016 Inspiron 2-in-1 lineup offers a premium addition to the 7000 Series, a mainstream 5000 Series, and an entry-level 3000 Series. These new devices are available with a wide range of processor options and configurable features as well.

Inspiron 7000 2-in-1s: will come in 13-, 15- and 17-inch models, complete with 6th Gen Intel Core processor options. There is a 360 degree hinge that enables four modes to suit the user’s environment (laptop mode, tent mode, stand mode and tablet mode).
The 7000s include a wide-viewing angle screen with FHD resolution, backlit keyboard and an infrared camera that works with Windows Hello. The devices also offer Waves MaxxAudio Pro audio software and 802.11ac wireless.
The Inspiron 7000 2-in-1s also include the USB Type C adapter, with ports for HDMI and VGA displays. There is also an Ethernet connection and a USB 3.0 port.
Available Dell Power Companions can connect to the USB Type C port, adding up to 6 hours of additional battery life for the 13- and 15-inch 7000s, and up to 5 additional hours2 for the 17-inch system.
The Inspiron 11 3000 2-in-1 is an 11-inch offers a ultraportable design, aimed at students mostly. The device also offers the latest processors from Intel, HD resolution (1366×768) and a USB 3.0 port and Micro SD media card reader.
The Inspiron 5000 was redesigned with a wide-angle FHD resolution display. The 5000s also include the infrared camera option and a backlit keyboard option. Dell will also include SSDs for a longer battery life, and faster boot times. The 15-inch 2-in-1 has 40% more screen room than the 13-inch, and both offer a (1920×1080) True-life LED-Backlit Touch Display, and up to 16GB of dual channel DDR4 memory.
As for the Inspiron 15 & 17 5000, users can opt-in for the infrared camera (available on the 15” FHD touch Intel/AMD models. There is also an optical DVD drive and optional Blu-ray writer (not available on the 17” AMD model) that could be added.
Dell described the new line saying, “The new Inspiron 2-in-1s and laptops are the latest examples of Dell’s long history of focusing on innovation and customer satisfaction.” The company went on to say, “Every year at Computex, the best-designed products are selected for the prestigious d&i/iF Design awards, and this year Dell has won five awards for its computing systems, displays, network and communications products and medical monitors. The awards recognize excellence in design and are one of the highlights of the Computex event.”
