ABC extends Jimmy Kimmel Live through 2019
Early today the ABC Network announced a three-year contract renewal with Jimmy Kimmel, the contract will put the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on ABC through Fall 2019.
The popular late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is currently in its 14th season, making Kimmel the longest-running host among the batch of late-night talkers.
The show has been nominated for quite a few awards over its fourteen seasons. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Variety Series. Kimmel will also return to host the Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC, on September 18.
Kimmel’s big segments are “Mean Tweets,” “Lie Witness News,” and “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy,” earning him 4.5 billion views on YouTube, with over 7.7 million subscribers to their dedicated channel.
Kimmel also recently announced his intention to run for Vice President.
Kimmel has also created one of a kind concert experiences, taking over Hollywood Blvd. for artists such as One Direction, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, Depeche Mode and Justin Timberlake, as well as special outdoor and lobby performances by Lady Gaga, Adele, Miley Cyrus, Prince, Linkin Park, Drake, Tony Bennett, Pitbull, Britney Spears, Kings of Leon, Lady Antebellum, Usher, Lenny Kravitz, Brad Paisley, No Doubt, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MUSE, Empire of the Sun, The Killers and Elton John.
Annually, the late-night show celebrates the Oscars with “Jimmy Kimmel Live!: After The Oscars” and the NBA Finals with ABC presents “Jimmy Kimmel Live!: Game Night.” These special-edition episodes air in primetime every night of the NBA Finals.
