NBC cancels The Mysteries of Laura
NBC has decided not to move forward with “The Mysteries of Laura,” which followed the romantic and professional life of Detective Laura Diamond (played by Debra Messing).
This comes just one-day after NBC released its 2016-2017 slate, filled with time-traveling mysteries and dramas.
Along with Messing, the series also starred Josh Lucas and Neal Bledsoe. The cast also includes Jenna Fischer, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins and Callie Thorne.
Writer Jeff Rake (“Boston Legal”) and director McG (“Supernatural”) served as executive producers with Greg Berlanti (“Brothers & Sisters”), Aaron Kaplan (“The Neighbors”), Todd Lituchy and Sarah Schecter. “The Mysteries of Laura” was a production of Warner Bros. Television, Belanti Productions and Kapital Entertainment.
Also canceled this week at NBC was “Crowded.” The series got canned after just one season on the network. NBC also cancelled the live-comedy “Undateable,” and the new drama “Heartbeat“. Also getting the axe at NBC this week was Eva Longoria’s “Telenovela” and “Game of Silence“.
