Inferno trailer, Tom Hanks returns for Dan Brown adaptation
Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for “Inferno,” a mystery/thriller starring Tom Hanks. Academy Award winner Ron Howard will return to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s (Da Vinci Code) billion-dollar Robert Langdon series. This will be the second adaptation of the series that Hanks has starred in, following Da Vinci Code. The original film in the series also featured Audrey Tautou and Jean Reno, that screenplay was written by Akiva Goldsman.
Called “Inferno,” this new film finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself.
When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot. The film’s screenplay is by David Koepp, based upon the novel by Dan Brown. Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are the producers. You can checkout the first teaser-trailer released by Sony Pictures on the studio’s official YouTube page below.
Joining Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones in the film are Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudse. Sony will release “Inferno” in theaters on October 28, 2016.
