NBCUniversal today launched Telemundo Now and Syfy Now apps on the Roku platform, as part of its expanding TV Everywhere offering.
Roku customers in the U.S. who authenticate via their pay TV provider can now use their Roku devices to stream full seasons, current and past episodes, short form clips and other programming from Telemundo and Syfy.
Telemundo is the first major Hispanic network in the U.S. to launch on Roku. Customers can download Telemundo Now from the Roku Channel Store to enjoy its most-watched Super Series El Señor de los Cielos and Señora Acero, popular program Caso Cerrado, the highly-rated singing competition La Voz Kids, and much more.
On Syfy Now, Roku customers can watch Syfy’s dynamic lineup of science fiction and fantasy entertainment, including the breakout hit drama The Magicians, critically-acclaimed thrillers 12 Monkeys and The Expanse, as well as the network’s long-running reality program Face Off and latest series Hunters.
“We are delighted to partner with Roku to provide a new digital platform for Telemundo and Syfy fans to view their favorite shows and programming,” said Dina Juliano, SVP of Consumer Product Strategy, TV Everywhere, NBCUniversal. “The addition of these networks demonstrates our commitment to expanding our diverse TV Everywhere portfolio and providing access to subscribers anytime and anywhere they want it.”
“Our goal is to bring Roku customers to the content they want most and offer an entertainment experience that caters to a wide variety of streamers,” said Bernarda Duarte, director, content acquisition, Roku. “We’re very excited to expand our content portfolio with premium channels such as Telemundo and Syfy. In addition, the ability to offer a major Hispanic network to Roku customers is a major milestone.”
Telemundo Now and Syfy Now are part of NBCUniversal’s TV Everywhere, the media industry’s effort to make quality content available to pay TV customers where and when they want it. Other NBCUniversal brands on Roku include NBC, NBC News, USA, Bravo, E!, NBCSN, and CNBC.
As NBCUniversal’s TV Everywhere footprint continues to expand, including on connected devices, it has experienced double digit year-over-year growth in total portfolio streaming.
