Independence Day Resurgence trailer celebrates Earth Day by destroying it
20th Century FOX released a new trailer for “Independence Day: Resurgence,” the long-awaited follow up to the film “Independence Day” released in 1996.
The next epic chapter in the series will certainly bring the destruction, at least according to the trailer that was released earlier today by the studio.
Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. The studio teases their doom by stating, “But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”
The new film was directed by Roland Emmerich, who also directed the original Independence Day. Producing the film are Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich and Harald Kloser.
Liam Hemsworth and Maika Monroe join franchise favorites Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman in the new installment. Also featured in the film are Travis Tope, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Judd Hirsch, Jessie Usher, Brent Spiner and Vivica A. Fox.
