Prince dead at 57, reports confirmed
It was reported today that legendary musician, producer, actor and songwriter, Prince, has passed away. Last week it was confirmed that popular musician and longtime performer was resting after a flight that he was on had to make an emergency landing to take the singer to the hospital.
At the time Prince, 57, was taken to a nearby hospital at Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois. This event occurred last Friday after the performer fell ill on the flight.
Since then Prince had been treated for the flu, and until today, that was the end of the story. A rep confirmed to ABC last week that Prince had been “battling the illness for weeks,” and now reports indicate that Prince has passed away.
Earlier Today, on Thursday, TMZ and several other media outlets are now reporting that Prince has died. According to the early reports, Prince’s body was discovered in his Paisley Park home. Prince was 57 years old.
Currently Deputies are on scene at Paisley Park in Chanhassen, where Prince lives. Right now the local sheriff’s office are conducting a death investigation, but won’t confirm anything until they notify the next of kin. After that time, they will release the name of the individual who died this morning.
No confirmation has been given from the artist’s rep, who is not available at this time. Prince was born, Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958. The artist was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Over the course of his career, Prince created 39 studio albums. His career stretched across decades, with music that overlapped several popular genres. Prince’s music sold more than 100M copies.
