“The Bye Bye Man” trailer, don’t think it or say it
STX Entertainment’s “The Bye Bye Man” will release in theaters this summer, but horror fans can get an early looks at the film thanks to an official trailer released from the studio this morning.
Starring in the dark-tale are Carrie-Anne Moss, Faye Dunaway and Douglas Smith. They will be joined by Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount and Douglas Jones.
Stacy Title directed “The Bye Bye Man” for STX, working on a screenplay from Jonathan Penner. The script is an adaptation of the short story “The Bridge to Body Island,” which was originally written Robert Damon Schneck. The film, which was produced by Trevor Macy, Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman, will hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
The studio teases, “People commit unthinkable acts every day. Time and again, we grapple to understand what drives a person to do such terrible things. But what if all of the questions we’re asking are wrong? What if the source of all evil is not a matter of what…but who?”
The horror-film comes from the same producer that brought you “The Strangers” and “Oculus,” this time thrilling fans of the genre that focuses on “the evil behind the most unspeakable acts committed by man.”
The story picks up when three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man. The group quickly discovers that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don’t think it, and don’t say it.
