Marvel to bring live action “Cloak and Dagger” to Freeform
There were a ton of great announcements from the Freeform network during today’s “FreeFrom UpFront” event in New York City. One of the more exciting new series to be highlighted during the event came from Marvel Studios, which unveiled a new, live-action “Cloak and Dagger” series.
The popular comic book duo are heading to the network with a live-action adaptation, a first for the ABC owned sister network. At the event, only a few details about the new adaptation were announced but the new show is already a popular topic on social-media following the announcement.
In “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” the story will follow Tandy Bowen and Tyronne Johnson, “two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened by and awakened to newly acquired super powers while falling in love.”
According to Marvel, “Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn that they are better together than apart–but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.”
“We are thrilled to be able to explore another corner of the Marvel Universe with Cloak and Dagger,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “We want to thank Tandy and Tyrone’s fans everywhere who have been waiting for this exciting news.”
Future updates like casting, a premiere and eventual teaser trailers, will all be revealed as the project moves along in production.
