It’s been a breakaway year for Daisy Ridley. The young actor stole our hearts as Rey, the orphaned scavenger on Jakku, in the film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Since the release of the record-breaking film fans can’t seem to get enough of the rising star, who recently held a short Q&A while promoting the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” home box-office release.
The Q&A was streamed over Facebook Live via the Star Wars Facebook page earlier today. The Star Wars brand went all out to promote the short Q&A session, adding exclusive 360 videos to the website and other fan-related promotional tools to coincide with the interview.
As we mentioned before, this was all in collaboration with the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Digital HD release on April 1st, with the Blu-ray Combo Pack set to release on April 5, 2016.
A lot of fans had questions about the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VIII” film, which Riley will star in once again as Rey. Of course many of the details are under wraps as the film is still in production, but Riley did talk about her experience moving from one film to the next.
“They are two very different things,” Riley explained. “Episode VII was like the beginning of the whole thing, and it was terrifying and incredibly rewarding, and I felt like I pushed myself beyond boundaries I thought I had. And now [on Episode VIII], I feel more together and I feel more present”
Riley also talked about the secrecy that was involved in working with the Star Wars brand. Riley admitted that it was never hard to keep the project a secret on her end, but she was fascinated by the production, even enough to linger about sets and shoots that she wasn’t required to be at just to checkout the rest of the film.
Ridley’s “Rey” quickly became an iconic female character after the film hit theaters. When asked what she would tell her younger-self after starring in the monumental franchise Ridley said, “Just keep doing what you are doing, because everything happens for a reason.” We think Yoda would agree.
The conversation quickly moved from Rey to Ridley’s personal life. The actor talked about her workout routine, which she described as a “love to hate” relationship. Ridley spoke about her weak wrists, inability to do push-ups and how running empowers her.
Daisy Ridley is live now.
