New “Top Gear” cast goes motoring in first BBC America trailer

BBC America released the first trailer for the new season of “Top Gear” this week, this is the first trailer released that features the new cast for the popular series.

The new cast consists of Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, they will be joined by Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan, German racing driver Sabine Schmitz, motoring journalist Chris Harris, and car reviewer and TV presenter Rory Reid.

The network announced the cast earlier this year saying, “The new team will cover the entire automotive spectrum, bringing with them their own unique and very individual love of cars that will resonate with every type of Top Gear viewer – from the family who enjoy the entertainment values of the show, to aspirational car lovers and fanatical petrol heads.”

The show made some changes to the cast after the long-standing host Jeremy Clarkson was fired from the network after getting into a physical altercation with a producer. The original cast included Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

All three hosts left the show after the ordeal, they moved to Amazon where they will debut a brand-new show later this year. The trio exited last year after a physical altercation between Clarkson and a producer.

Fan of the series can catch the new team in action when “Top Gear” returns in May.
