TNT picks up “Claws” from Executive Producer Rashida Jones

Following the success of “Angie Tribeca,” TNT is moving forward with another project from actor/producer Rashida Jones. The network confirmed today that it has ordered a pilot for “Claws,” which is set to be an hour-long scripted dramedy that takes in a south Florida nail salon.

If it moves forward, the series will be Executive-produced by Le Train Train’s Rashida Jones and Will McCormack (Toy Story 4, Celeste and Jesse Forever, A to Z).

Claws is from Le Train Train in association with Warner Horizon Television and TNT Original Productions, and is written by co-executive producer Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me).

As for the series itself, “Claws” is described as “a midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness which follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists in the traditionally male world of organized crime.”

The network teases. “We will soon find out there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.”

Claws marks Jones’ second project for Turner this year. She can currently be seen on TNT’s sister network TBS in the new cop show parody Angie Tribeca, in which she plays the title role and serves as producer.
