Blake Lively tries to survive a shark attack in “The Shallows” trailer
Blake Lively is headed back to the big-screen in a new shark-attack thriller called “The Shallows,” set to release later this summer. Fans of the thriller-genre, or of Blake Lively, can watch “The Shallows” teaser-trailer below thanks to an early upload from Sony Pictures.
In the new film Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a great white shark and stranded just a short distance from shore. Though she is only 200 yards from her survival, getting there proves the ultimate contest of wills. Sony Pictures is calling it “Jaws for a new generation,” and the movie certainly share some similarities with the opening scene of the 1975 classic.
“The Shallows” was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, working off a script written by Anthony Jaswinski. Producing the film were Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem, with Doug Merrifield and Jaume Collet-Serra serving as Executive Producers.
More of a lone-survivalist film, the credited cast includes just three people and that includes Blake Lively. Joining her on the call-sheet are Óscar Jaenada and Sedona Legge.
Sony has set a June 24, 2016 release date for “The Shallows,” just in time for moviegoers to be afraid of the summer-waters again.
