The first full-length X-Men Apocalypse trailer was released today, showing off more of the mutants that will battle against Apocalypse this summer.

The film follows the critically popular installment “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” and the new film will be directed Bryan Singer. The new film introduces the mutant Apocalypse, who since the dawn of civilization was worshipped as a god.

Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.

As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Lauren Shuler Donner produced the film, with Simon Kinberg also writing the screenplay. The film is based on a story written by by Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg and Michael Dougherty & Dan Harris.

Starring in the latest X-Men film are James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne and Tye Sheridan. The new installment will also feature Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.

Fans of the comics and films will get to see the X-Men battle Apocalypse this summer, FOX has scheduled the film to release in theaters on May 27, 2016.
