Adventure Time to air Marceline’s “Stakes” miniseries event in March

The long-running “Adventure Time” series will be featuring the expanded story of Marceline the Vampire Queen with the Cartoon Network premiere of “Stakes.” Previously released on DVD, the story is told over an eight-part miniseries that journeys into the diary of popular Vampire.

Viewers can sink their teeth into “Stakes” with a four-night special event beginning on Monday 14th March at 5pm on Cartoon Network.

In the series-event, Marceline the Vampire Queen wants to stop being a vampire, and hopes that Princess Bubblegum can cure her. At the same time, five of Marceline’s most fearsome foes return from her past. Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum and their friends join the Vampire Queen’s fight against her immortal enemies.

Series regulars Olivia Olson (Marceline), Jeremy Shada (Finn), John DiMaggio (Jake), Hynden Walch (Princess Bubblegum) and Tom Kenny (Ice King) are joined by guest stars Rebecca Romijn (The Empress), Billy Brown (The Vampire King), composer and actor Paul Williams (The Hierophant), Ron Funches (The Fool), Beau Billingslea (The Moon) and Kyle Kinane (Cloud Dance). In her voice acting debut, Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar joins the cast as the voice of Marceline’s mother.

A modern day fable, the Emmy and BAFTA Award–winning animated series Adventure Time has become a global success since its premiere in 2010, attracting adult and kid viewers in their millions.

The original series follows the adventures of bffs Finn the Human and Jake the dog as they navigate the mysterious Land of Ooo. The series also features the intelligent and charming Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, the hilariously grumpy Lumpy Space Princess, the Ice King and of course Marceline the Vampire Queen.

The series was created by Pendleton Ward and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. Season six is currently airing across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and season seven will premiere in the region this spring 2016.
