Just in time for Easter, Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for “Ben Hur,” which is set to release later this summer.

BEN-HUR is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption.

The film was directed by Timur Bekmambetov, working off a screenplay written by Keith R. Clarke. The film stars Jack Huston, Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman, Rodrigo Santoro, Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, and Sofia Black D’Elia.

Readers might remember the classic “Ben-Hur” film that was released back in 1959. That film was directed by William Wyler and starred Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins and Stephen Boyd. Both the 1959 version and the 2016 version were based on the best-selling novel “Ben-Hur: A Tale of Christ
