Sony’s “Sausage Party” trailer is an R-rated CGI horror show for food
Much like the uncut hot dogs, sprouts and condiments that they portray in the film, the animated food in “Sausage Party” are extremely inappropriate for young children.
Sony Pictures released the first trailer for “Sausage Party” this week, and once you get past the sheer madness that the story is based on, it’s actually a pretty hilarious film. The CGI comedy hit SXSW this week, and the red-band trailer (which are never safe for work) was released shortly after.
This marks the first R-rated CG animated movie to hit theaters nationwide, and it only takes about thirty-seconds of the trailer to see why. The story follows one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens after they become chosen to leave the grocery store.
All food wants to be chosen at the grocery store, because they think that’s their purpose in life. It’s not until our heroes watch humans rip the skin of potatoes and eat their friends that the foods realize where they stand on the food-chain. It’s a horror-show, starring food and dressed as a Pixar film.
The film features the vocal talents of Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek.
