In the Marvel Cinematic Universe there’s no bigger missing piece than Spider-Man. The famous web-slinger has been left out of popular Marvel films like “The Avengers” because Sony Pictures owns the film-rights to the character.

Finally after decades of playing “will they or won’t they?”, Marvel and Sony teamed-up to form a new allegiance that will allow Spider-Man to play with his friends on the big-screen.

Marvel released the new trailer for “Captain America: Civil War” this afternoon, much to the delight of millions of fans across the globe. The trailer offers a better look at the looming battle between Captain America and Iron Man, and points out their respective teams of Super-Heroes. The trailer only hints at the villainous schemes going on while this civil-war plays itself out, but those surprises are probably best revealed in the theater.

Spider-Man gets called “Underoos by Iron Man in the trailer, a fitting title for one of the world’s most popular characters. Sony allowed this “new” version of Spider-Man for a very specific reason, that’s because Marvel will introduce the character in Civil War only as a precursor for yet another stand-alone Spidey movie from Sony in 2017.

Tom Holland (The Impossible) will play the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Sony Pictures film, but he will also be in the Captain America Civil War film as well. Don’t worry, you won’t have to sit through the origin-story of Spider-Man again for two-hours to enjoy some Spidey action. You can checkout Spider-Man, Iron Man, Ant-Man and all the other popular characters from previous films in the trailer above.

Fans won’t have to wait too long before the big blockbuster hits theaters. “Captain America: Civil War” will premiere in your local cineplex starting on May 6, 2016.
