Just in case you weren’t spending enough time on Tinder, the popular dating app will now let you match-up your friends with interesting profiles. Now when you stumble across a profile that seems like a perfect match for someone you know, you will be able to share that profile to get the ball rolling.

“We are testing the ability to play matchmaker on Tinder. While swiping through potential matches, a small group of users may see the option to share a profile they come across,” Tinder explained in today’s announcement. “Tapping the ‘share’ icon will allow you to send a temporary link via text to a friend, and give them the ability to swipe on the profile you shared.”

You will have to act fast though, the link generated through the share feature will expire after five clicks or 72 hours – whichever comes first. Tinder stated that users, “can choose to opt out of having a sharable profile by visiting Discovery Settings.”

If you find yourself on the receiving end of the matchmaker game, you simply swipe on a profile that has been shared with you., Your profile may appear in their recommendations – as long as you meet your potential match’s preferences. Tinder reminds its users, “As always, if you both swipe right, it’s a match!”

It’s a pretty smart system for increasing possible connections, adding a human element to something that has been purposefully data-driven since launch. Now word yet on how far the update will stretch, users have already started sharing their potential perfect hookups with their friends online, and the service is expected to expand over the next few days.
