Sony Pictures finally released the first trailer for the “Ghostbusters” reboot this morning, showing off the new cast that will introduce the Ghostbuster franchise to a younger audience. The film is set to release later this summer, but thanks to an early upload from Sony, you can watch the full trailer below.
The original film in the franchise release thirty-years ago, introducing Slimer and the gang to moviegoers across the planet. In the new reboot, director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by a few of the funniest actors working today.
The script was written by Paul Feig and Katie Dippold, the film is of course based on the film “Ghostbusters” written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. The original film was directed by Ivan Reitman, who produced this new project with Amy Pascal.
Michele Imperato Stabile, Paul Feig, Jessie Henderson, Dan Aykroyd, Tom Pollock, Joe Medjuck, Ali Bell and Ben Waisbren served as Executive Producers.
The cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams and Chris Hemsworth.
