HBO’s “Game of Thrones” season 6 trailer teases faces, not plots

While fans are probably excited to watch any sort of “Game of Thrones” teaser from HBO, the latest trailer won’t be giving away any new plot details.

HBO released one of the first trailer-teases for “Game of Thrones” season 6 this weekend, a day early if you are following the network’s schedule on Twitter. The video leaked ahead of the Monday release, forcing HBO to reveal the trailer a day before it was scheduled to do so. While fans may catch glimpses of their favorite characters, the video is more of an emotional piece than anything else.

The entire video takes place within the famous Black and White house, or the “Hall of Faces” as it also called. The building was introduced in an earlier season and was the brief home of Arya Stark and her Faceless Man companion.

Inside the hallowed halls viewers will see fleeting profile-shots of famous characters, most of whom have died in earlier seasons. Among the rank and file in the Hall are the mighty Ned Stark, the terrible King Joffrey Baratheon and the beloved Jon Snow. Having Snow in the trailer is a pretty fantastic tease from the network, which is obviously holding the fate of Jon Snow over the heads its fanbase.

As each face enters and exits the frame a voice-over whispers from the distance. One character also appeared in the Halls that really shouldn’t be there, the face of Tyrion Lannister. If you are following along in the series, Tyrion hasn’t died, so this could be an a gigantic tease from the network or just some foreshadowing to get fans talking about the new season.

Fans will finally start getting some answers when the show returns this spring. If you need a reminder to set the date in your phone, “Game of Thrones” is set to premiere on April 24.
