Alice Through The Looking Glass trailer tease has a somber tone with Alan Rickman’s voice
While we couldn’t be more excited to see the next installment to Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Alice,” hearing Alan Rickman’s unique voice narrate the trailer only made us sad.
The late Rickman voiced the Blue Caterpillar before his passing and can be heard telling Alice to hurry up throughout the trailer. The long-awaited sequel “Alice Through The Looking Glass” will hit theaters on May 27, 2016 and the studio released a new teaser-trailer today to get fans excited for the new film.
Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass” will be an all-new installment to the growing franchise, the original film’s success began a dozen or so live-action projects for Disney including “Beauty and the Beast” with Emma Watson. The new Alice film will add new characters, mostly from Lewis Carroll’s beloved stories, and a few big-names to the cast-list.
In the film Alice returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. Directed by James Bobin, who brings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 with “Alice in Wonderland,” the film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer.
“Alice Through the Looking Glass” reunites the all-star cast from the worldwide blockbuster phenomenon, including: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. We are also introduced to several new characters: Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter’s father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.
Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass will hit theaters later this spring on May 27, 2016.
