The reboot of horror hit “Cabin Fever” will hit select theaters in February
While some may call it a reboot, the film is really more of a reimagining of the original work. Travis Zariwny directed the new installment, which will introduce new characters and “new kills” according to the studio. Horror-fans now have a firm release date for select theaters to look forward to if they want to watch the film next month. “Cabin Fever” will screen in Los Angeles and New York on February 12, 2016.
Executive producer Eli Roth will be presenting the new rendition of his instant classic. The original “Cabin Fever,” which was both writteb and directed by Eli Roth, was released back in 2002. That version starred Jordan Ladd, Rider Strong and James DeBello.
The studio behind the film offered a few teases in a statement released along with the premiere date stating, “This story is familiar: fresh out of college, a group of five friends retreat to a remote cabin in the woods for one last week of partying- only to become snacks for a gruesome, flesh-eating virus.” The studio went on to tease, “What’s surprising are the ingenious new deaths, which offer a fresh spin on a horror-comedy milestone. With Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf) and Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3).”
As we mentioned earlier, Eli Roth served as an Executive Producer on the project. Joining Gage Golightly and Dustin Ingram on the screen will be Nadine Crocker, Matthew Daddario and Samuel Davis.
