Casting is heating up on the two remaining “Fifty Shades of Grey” films, the next being called “Fifty Shades Darker” and the third being called “Fifty Shades Freed”.
The two films will have to nail-down casting over the next few months, as Universal Pictures wants both films shot back-to-back. Fans already knew that the franchises’ stars, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, will be returning to the series in their previous roles, but it was confirmed today that Kim Basinger will be joining them.
The next film will be directed by James Foley, who is taking over after Sam Taylor-Johnson left the series last year. An Oscar-winning actress, Kim Basinger has been chosen to play Christian Grey’s former lover, Elena Lincoln. The news was confirmed earlier this evening.
Producing the film are Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are produc, they will joining Marcus Viscidi and author E.L. James.
Also returning to the series are Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini, they will pickup the same roles that they premiered in the first adaptation.
