Jenna Ortega to star in “Stuck in the Middle” for Disney Channel

Disney will be introducing a new series to the Disney Channel this year called “Stuck in the Middle”. The comedy series will star Jenna Ortega, from the popular comedy series “Jane the Virgin”.

The single camera comedy series follows 12-year-old Harley Diaz as she maneuvers her way through the bustle of being a middle child in a family with six other siblings. The heartfelt and comedic stories of a big family find Harley devising creative ways to cope with – and stand out – in her family’s busy suburban Massachusetts household.  Her ingenuity often wins the day for the Diaz family, even with many different personalities living under one roof.

Leading the cast will be Jenna Ortega as Harley Diaz, she will be joined on screen by Isaak Presley as Ethan Diaz, Ronni Hawk as Rachel Diaz, Kayla Masionet as Georgie Diaz, Nicolas Bechtel as Lewie Diaz, Malachi Barton as “Beast” Diaz, Ariana Greenblatt as Daphne Diaz, Cerina Vincent as Suzy Diaz and Joe Nieves as Tom Diaz.

The network describes the lead character as an “Inventor, experimenter, mediator and persuader,” the series is centered towards kids 6-14 and their families.

The Diaz parents, Suzy and Tom, also have six other kids: Rachel the somewhat self-involved eldest; Georgie, a motivational athlete; Ethan, Harley’s closest ally; invincible and indestructible twins Lewie and “Beast;” and the strong-willed “baby” of the family, Daphne.

The series was created by Alison Brown, with Linda Videtti Figueiredo taking the role as executive producer. Fans of Jenna Ortega can find the new series when it premieres on the Disney Channel in February.
