Governors Ball adds Kanye West, Killers and Strokes to lineup

This year’s Governors Ball is shaping up to offer one of the best lineups in the event’s history, with Kanye West and The Strokes hitting the main-stage alongside some of music’s chart-toppers. The event is scheduled to take place from June 5-7, this will be the sixth year that New York will host the popular musical festival.

Fans of Kanye might remember that he played the Governors Ball in the past, West hit the festival back in 2013 and debuted several songs from his then newly-released album Yeezus. It’s no surprise then that Kanye is returning to the festival, just as he prepares to release his new album SWISH.

While The Killers have been somewhat quiet lately in regards to album releases, the band is expected to release new music over the next two-years. The delay could be attributed to frontman Brandon Flowers’ decision to create a solo album in 2015 but hopefully fans will get more news about a new album when the band hits the festival this summer.

Meanewhile The Strokes are still living off their fifth full-length album that they released back in 2013 (Come Down Machine), they are also expected to released a new music over the next few years.

It’s not just the men that are causing an uproar on social-media, fans can get excited about seeing Robyn, Haim and Courtney Barnett at the Governors Ball this year. Other artists that made the list include Beck, M83, CHVRCHES, Father John Misty, Jamie xx, Miguel, Bloc Party, Eagles of Death Metal, Courtney Barnett, Action Bronson, and Mac Miller.

While tickets are selling-out fast, a few options are still on sale if you act quickly. You can get the full list that was released on the official Instagram account of the Governors Ball below.
