Amazon offers free Kung Fu Panda copies to celebrate Kung Fu Panda 3

It’s a Kung Fu Panda explosion on Amazon today, the popular retailer is holding a special promotion to celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of “Kung Fu Panda 3” in February.

Amazon is offering a free copy of the DreamWorks Animation hit to customers today, with a few only a few limited restrictions. The promotion is open to all U.S. customers who make an eligible Amazon purchase from 12:00am Friday, December 18, 2015, through 11:59pm on Friday, January 1, 2016. Doing so will grant shoppers a free offer to download Kung Fu Panda, along with a trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3.

Those eligible purchases include anything “sold or fulfilled by Amazon.com.” That includes any of the Fire TVs, Fire Tablets, e-books, physical books, digital music, toys, consumer electronics, and anything under the Amazon Video category.

You can check out some of the eligible products here amazon.com/kungfupanda. The only main restriction is that the exclusive offer allows only one free download per Amazon Video account, which is basically all you need anyway.

For customers wanting to get primed for Po’s latest theatrical release, you can also purchase Kung Fu Panda 2 in HD for $4.99 or rent it in HD for just $0.99 during the offer period.

This is the first time Amazon has offered a free movie to consumers at this scale and it marks a major partnership with DreamWorks Animation as the prepare their marketing rush for the new film. Fans that are excited to see Kung Fu Panda 3 won’t have to wait that long before the big premiere, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on January 29, 2016.
