It was reported today that Ruby Rose has ended her engagement to former fiancee Phoebe Dahl. Multiple sources are now confirming the break-up, which was first reported by E! News.
The news broke this morning that the popular star of ‘Orange is the New Black’ and designer Dahl called it quits, the two had been dating for two years prior. It was back in March 2014 that the duo first announced their engagement, Dahl reportedly proposing after turning down Rose the first three times that she had asked. E! reported that a source told the outlet, “It’s completely amicable and they wish each other the best.” The outlet of course did not mention the source at the time of the article.
Though Rose had a very successful career before her breakout acting role as Stella on OITNB, landing the hot-series certainly has made her a household name. Fans can expect to see more of Rose as she hits the screen in “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.” That film will star franchise favorites Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter. Rose is also expected to star alongside Keanu Reeves in “John Wick 2”.
As for Dahl, the popular designer is also in the midst of a booming career. Last year Dahl launched the charitable clothing line named “Faircloth & Supply,” a charity that donates a school uniform to a girl in Nepal for every garment sold.
Rose made headlines this summer when she so openly and honestly discussed gender fluidity, telling the U.K.’s Guardian, “I feel like I’m neither, yeah. Well, if I had to choose it would be a boy, a guy. I feel like I’m a boy, but I don’t feel like I should’ve been born with different parts of my body or anything like that. I feel like it’s just all in how I dress and how I talk and how I look and feel, and that makes me happy.”
“I didn’t know there were options like gender neutral or gender fluid,” the 29-year-old Australian stunner also told Cosmo. “I later realized you could be a girl and dress like a guy….As soon as I met Phoebe, I knew. She’s everything that I would want in somebody. She’s talented, she’s funny, and she also has this charitable, giving side.”
