Star Trek Beyond trailer, first look at the next big installment
Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for “STAR TREK BEYOND,” the third film in the rebooted franchise. The film will be released in July, with an IMAX format release set for July 22, 2016. Paramount will also feature the trailer for the film ahead of the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” project when the movie hits theaters next week.
“STAR TREK BEYOND” is directed by Justin Lin and reunites Jon Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin. Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson and Joe Taslim are joining the cast.
The film of course is based upon “Star Trek” created by Gene Roddenberry, the film’s writers are Roberto Orci & John D. Payne & Patrick Mckay; and Douglas Jung & Simon Pegg. The film is produced by J.J. Abrams and Roberto Orci, and Justin Lin through his Perfect Storm Entertainment. The executive producers are Jeffrey Chernov, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Lindsey Weber. Fans of the series can get their first look at the new film thanks to a trailer, released a little earlier than planned, which was uploaded to Paramount’s YouTube page this morning.
Since the reboot, The “STAR TREK” franchise has earned more than $850 million globally. The first installment was directed by J.J. Abram back in 2009.
Fans only have a few more months of waiting. The film is currently scheduled to release in theaters across the country on July 22, 2015.
