CD PROJEKT RED took home top-honors at this year’s Game Awards event in Los Angeles. The annual event took place last night and was streamed to millions of fans around the world. The developers won the Game of the Year prize for their latest title “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“. Not only did the incredibly popular game win the coveted Game of the Year award, the game also took home the Best RPG prize during the event.

CD PROJEKT RED was also awarded the title of Developer of the Year by the voters. Earlier this year, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won in four categories during the Golden Joystick Awards. The winning categories were: Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design and Best Gaming Moment. CD PROJEKT RED was also awarded the title of Studio of the Year.

As for the studio itself, CD PROJEKT RED was established in 2002 and based in Warsaw and Cracow, Poland. The developers were also responsible for the franchises previous installments, the Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Both RPGs were praised by critics and fans, gathering over 200 awards and selling over 10 million copies to date. Originally a PC developer, CD PROJEKT RED has also released The Witcher on Mac and The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360, PC and Mac.

On May 19th, 2015, the studio released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a fantasy open world RPG available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. The developer is also working on Cyberpunk 2077 in collaboration with Mike Pondsmith, the original designer of the pen-and-paper Cyberpunk futuristic RPG system in which the upcoming game is set.
