After a series of rumors running between Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas; it seems that Coldplay will be performing at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
CBS is set to broadcast the game on February 7, 2016. The band, which started back in 1997, made the announcement earlier today. Since their debut Coldplay has sold more than 80 million copies of their six #1 albums, an incredible accomplishment in music over the last two-decades.
Coldplay has also won seven Grammy Awards and eight BRITs awards. Tomorrow, December 4, 2016, the band will release their widescreen seventh album, A Head Full Of Dreams, along with their first single “Adventure Of A Lifetime” and “Hymn For The Weekend.”
The group has quite a show to live-up to, last year’s event hosted over 114M viewers when the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks left the field. NBC hosted that event last year. Previous performers included Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and her Left Shark.
