Black Friday Deals 2015: Amazon to offer new discounts every five minutes

This year Amazon will be adding deals every five minutes in order to entice Black Friday shoppers into visiting and revisiting the website throughout the day. The company offered the same deal last year and it was quite a hit. Some deals, like a 40″ HDTV for less than $180 were out of stock in less than five minutes, while other deals were a bit more forgiving.

Amazon’s official holiday deals started back on Friday, November 20. The company has been adding new deals to the “Lightning Section” of Amazon’s “Today’s Deals” every five minutes for the last week. The deals are also available to browse on amazon.com/blackfriday. During the sale customers will have access to 10 coveted Deals of the Day starting at midnight on Thanksgiving, and up to 10 more on Black Friday.

Customers can also shop limited-time Lightning Deals on thousands of sought-after products per day throughout the eight days of deals. Plus, Prime members will get 30-minutes early access to the majority of these Lightning Deals. That’s a really big plus actually, since many of the deals sellout so quickly, being a Prime member is one of the best cards to hold during Black Friday. If you aren’t a member, you can sign-up for a 30-day free trial and get the benefits of the early deals and free two-day shipping from now through Christmas Eve.

There will be up to 150 “hand-picked” Lightning Deals to shop this year, according to the company’s announcement. The sales will offer reduced prices on electronics to kitchen gadgets. There will also be exclusive deals sold through the Amazon Mobile Shopping App available on Android, iOS, and Fire OS.

These deals can be found on the “App Only Deals” tab and will be released daily from 3 PM PT to 11 PM PT starting Thanksgiving through Wednesday, December 9.

“Customers can truly sit back and relax with their family and friends this holiday season knowing that they will be notified as soon as the products they’ve had their eye on are about to go on sale,” said Steve Shure, Vice President, Amazon Consumer Marketing. “Year after year, more and more customers shop for deals on Amazon from the comfort of their own home, and we continue to make that process even more convenient for them. And with App Only Deals, customers will have plenty of options when it comes to scoring great deals from Amazon.”

Customers can find the latest deals and promos being offered right now and throughout the day on the official promotional page at amazon.com/blackfriday.
