Blake Shelton will host the Nickelodeon 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards

Get your slime ready and tune into the Kids’ Choice Awards this year to watch one of Country’s biggest acts introduce all of the stars and musical-acts that your kids have loved this past year. Country Music singer and coach on the Emmy winning NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton, has been named as the host of Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards.

The special event is set to air live on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Fans can expect surprise appearances and special guests as Shelton will takes over this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards, honoring favorites from the worlds of film, music, and television.

The show will be seen by kids around the globe on Nickelodeon channels in more than 180 countries and territories according to the network’s official announcement released today. Additional Kids’ Choice Awards news will be announced in the coming months.

Shelton talked about being named this year’s host stating, “I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids. There is only one team here, and it’s Team Kids’ Choice so bring it on Nickelodeon!”

The Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards is produced by Nickelodeon Productions. Elizabeth Kelly, Michael Dempsey, Shelly Sumpter Gillyard and Jay Schmalholz are executive producers.
