Valerian adds Rihanna, Cara Delevingne to cast
The cast of “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” has added another A-list celeb to the film’s already impressive cast list. It was reported today that Rihanna has signed-on to join the cast of the upcoming Luc Besson project, scheduled to hit theaters in 2017.
The director of the film made the confirmation today but failed to reveal the exact details on Rihanna’s character. More information on the cast-list will be revealed as the film moves farther along into production over the next few months. Besson has been behind such popular films as “Lucy” and “The Professional,” the director confirmed the news on his official Instagram account earlier today.
Rihanna joins fellow actors Dane DeHaan (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), Clive Owen (“Closer”) and Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”) in the new project. The film is scheduled to begin filming in France at the start of the new year, the film itself is scheduled to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.
The film will be an adaptation of the popular graphic novel, taking place in a time in human-history where time travel becomes possible. More casting assignments, a plot synopsis and a few trailers for the film are expected to release over the next few months.
