Lily James holds nothing back in new “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” trailer

Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for “Pride And Prejudice And Zombies,” the upcoming action-horror set to release in early 2016. Based on the popular novel of the same name.

In the film a zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.

While based on the popular Jane Austen novel this adaptation was written by Seth Grahame-Smith, a “New York Times” bestselling author that also worked on “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and “Unholy Night.” In addition to adapting the screenplay for “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” Seth also wrote Tim Burton’s film “Dark Shadows.”

Leading the terrific cast is director Burr Steers, who also wrote the screenplay for the film. While the trailer was released this week, the actual film won’t release for another few moths. “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” is set to release on February 5, 2016.
