Elizabeth Banks, Sam Smith and Lorde are coming to SNL
Elizabeth Banks will be making her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut this fall, the network made the confirmation earlier this afternoon.
Banks will be promoting her highly anticipated blockbuster “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” which will hit theaters November 4. She is also coming off directing and starring in “Pitch Perfect 2” and a critically-acclaimed role in the film “Love and Mercy.”
Disclosure will also make their SNL debut as musical guest. Their second album, “Caracal,” was released in September to rave reviews. The English electronic music duo will be joined by Sam Smith and then Lorde for their first TV performance from this critically acclaimed album.
“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong and features an acclaimed cast including Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutchinson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Academy Award-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone. Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their original roles from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The impressive lineup is joined by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 co-stars Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, Natalie Dormer, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson and Evan Ross.
