KODAK introduces a new Baby Monitoring System ahead of the holidays

KODAK introduced a new Baby Monitoring System this morning (mode CFH-BVA10) offering a modern design and next-generation tech. Expected to hit store by the end of this year, the new device offers upgraded hardware and convenient new features for new parents.

Powered by Tend’s industry-leading Vision-as-a-Service (VaaS) platform for the connected home, the KODAK System earned a 2015 CES Innovation Award for its disruptive new take on conventional baby monitoring technology. The KODAK System features cutting edge technologies, all accessible from a user-friendly mobile app.

The KODAK Baby Monitoring System CFH-BVA10 also features live video viewing in HD video quality via a smartphone or tablet device. Customers will have a 180-degree view, with built-in de-warping, to allow parents to see the entire room without fish-eye image distortion.

The new device will also feature digital zoom, night vision and two-way audio talkback and wide dynamic range that automatically corrects settings with extreme lighting conditions. The new model will also feature a white noise soother and touches night lights. There is also a detachable USB video camera to allow parents to remove the USB video camera from the base and attach it to any standard USB battery pack for on-the-go portability.

“This state-of-the-art system provides the ultimate, just-right combination of advanced technology with practical convenience that modern families need,” said Eileen Murphy, Vice President of Brand Licensing at Kodak. “It represents everything the connected home is all about: using technology to make life simpler, more enjoyable and to give us more time to spend with our family and loved ones.”

Packaged in a beautifully designed wood-style base inspired by the iconic Eames Lounge Chair, the KODAK Baby Monitoring System provides a chic, versatile aesthetic that’s at home in any décor, from traditional or casual to contemporary or minimalistic.

“When my wife and I were expecting our first child, we were frustrated by the lack of really good, well-designed baby monitors. None offered both the features and the style we wanted,” said Herman Yau, Tend co-founder and CEO. “So we decided to rethink the entire concept and design a modern system that both fits into any environment and centers on our modern mobile-centric lifestyle.”

The KODAK system uniquely leverages mobile phones and tablets to provide parents and caretakers with instant access to monitor baby’s movements, comfort and safety from anywhere. Parents can use the app (available for both iOS and Android) for live video streaming, to adjust the pan/tilt/zoom functions of the camera for optimum viewing, to listen in on baby’s activities and even respond with soothing words, all from their mobile phone.

The plug-and-play system offers ultra-easy setup to any WiFi network in seconds, and a unique mobile battery-power option enables the ultimate in portability, perfect for traveling. Tend’s robust, carrier-grade service ensures reliable connectivity through any mobile device, with the most up-to-date technology and network standards for added peace of mind and security.

With an MSRP of just $199, the KODAK Baby Monitoring System will soon be available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
