STARZ has chosen screenwriter, producer, director, actor and comic book writer – Kevin Smith (“Comic Book Men,” Clerks, Chasing Amy) to moderate the network’s “Ash vs Evil Dead” panel at New York Comic-Con this year.

The exciting panel will feature the cast and crew of the long-awaited Evil Dead reprise, including the one and only Bruce Campbell. The event takes place Saturday, October 10th at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Smith is set to moderate the panel about the highly anticipated new series which will premiere Saturday, October 31st on STARZ.

Joining Smith will be original Evil Dead filmmaker Sam Raimi (who directed all the films and the first episode of “Ash vs Evil Dead”) and original Evil Dead and series star Bruce Campbell, as well as showrunner Craig DiGregorio and cast including: Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus,” “Xena”), Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers), Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”).

The 10-episode first season of the half-hour series is executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, the original filmmakers, and Craig DiGregorio who serves as executive producer and showrunner. “Ash vs Evil Dead,” is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic The Evil Dead film franchise.

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) reprising his role of Ash Williams, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. Rounding out the cast are Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.
