Bare trailer, Glee’s Dianna Agron breaks new ground in dark, passionate drama

“Bare” hit the regular film-festivals this year, quickly earning praise for the film’s two young-stars – Dianna Agron and Paz De La Huerta. The film was quickly picked-up by IFC Films and will release in select theaters and VOD in late October. While the release may be a few weeks away, you can get an early look at the film thanks to a trailer that was released by IFC earlier this week. Part of the Sundance Select crowd, the film is an amazing juxtaposition of young American life and young American aspirations.

The story picks up with Sarah (Dianna Agron) living in her sheltered and rural hometown. Without any apparent means of changing a certain fate, Sarah discovers a possible way out in Pepper (Paz De La Huerta), a mysterious female drifter.

Through Pepper’s influence, Sarah is motivated to take a job at a highway strip club where Pepper sells drugs. Underneath Sarah’s search for freedom is her discovery of love. But as their friendship develops into a romance, and Sarah’s life veers further away from what it was. She soon finds herself trapped in a double life and quickly realizes what happens when real life collides with fantasy.

The film is an wonderful departure for Glee’s Dianna Agron and her performance with Paz De La Huerta is sure to spark a lot more work in the future for both rising stars. The studio teases Bare as, “a raw and real look at what it means to take charge of your destiny.” Also deserving praise is the writer and director of the film Natalia Leite, a young woman that is quickly cementing her reign over highly-stylized and sexually progressive dramas.

Bare will hit theaters, digital and VOD October 30th.
