Colonia trailer, Emma Watson stars in chilling thriller

In her new movie Emma Watson stars as Lena, a young woman who is searching for her abducted boyfriend in Chile. Her search ultimately draws her into the infamous Colonia Dignidad, “a secret nobody ever escaped from”.

The film is called “Colonia” and it is set to release in early 2016. Florian Gallenberger directed the film and co-wrote the script with Torsten Wenzel. You can checkout the first trailer for the upcoming film below, a departure from Watson’s earlier work but not her first thriller.

Watson previously worked with writer-director Alejandro Amenábar in the film “Regression,” a thriller starring Watson, Ethan Hawke and David Thewlis. That film will release later this year.

Joining Watson on screen for “Colonia” are Daniel Brühl and Michael Nyqvist.

Watson has quite a few big projects in the works other than her completed “Colonia” and “Regression” thrillers. The popular actor will be taking the role of Belle in Disney’s live-action film adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast” and she will also star in the upcoming high-profile film “The Circle”.

That film is still filming and is being directed by James Ponsoldt. The film is based on the novel written by Dave Eggers, James Ponsoldt also wrote the screenplay for the film. Watson will join Tom Hanks and Karen Gillan in the project.
