Netflix sets Jessica Jones release date, the next Marvel series
Netflix has set a date for its next big Marvel premiere, “Jessica Jones” season 1 will become available on November 20, 2015 at 12:01am PT. The confirmation was made today via YouTube, where Netflix released the following teaser-trailer.
The first season of the series will contain 13 one-hour episodes and will launch in all territories where Netflix is available on the same day. Starring in the titular role of Jessica Jones will be Kristen Ritter, she will be joined by Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Hellcat and David Tennant of “Doctor Who” fame as a villain named Kilgrave.
Most fans remember Krysten Ritter as the B- in ‘Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23,’ this will be her first Marvel role. Netflix signed-on to host four Marvel-themed series, The first series follows the crime-fighting antics of “Daredevil,” which launched last year.
“Daredevil” has been doing extremely will on the video-streaming service, setting the bar pretty high for Jessica Jones.
In the series Jessica Jones is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition that forces her to retire from the world of superheroes. Later on after her retirement, she starts a detective agency that still helps other heroes in their fight – as well as a few civilian cases. You can checkout the first teaser-trailer below.
