Ronda Rousey in talks to star in Road House remake
Talk about a surprise casting announcement, Ronda Rousey is currently in talks to star in a remake of “Road House,” that’s probably a headline you didn’t expect to see today. The popular UFC fighter, who has been teasing that she wants to take-on the role of Ms. Marvel, is going the action-drama route with a reimagining of the popular film “Road House”.
The film, which originally starred a young Patrick Swayze, first release back in 1989. Now Ronda Rousey will take the role of the bouncer/hero that comes to a small-town bar to clean-up the corruption and filth that is originating from its borders. That’s assuming that the general plot of the first film carries over to the new project.
MGM is currently developing the remake, Ronda Rousey is in negotiations for the part as the studio is currently searching for scribes the write the script. The film is obviously still in very early stages at this point but more information on the remake/reimagining will be released as the project moves along into production.
Ronda Rousey was recently featured in her first Carls JR. ad to promote the company’s new line of breakfast sandwiches, if the deals go through this will be her first leading role in a major film.
The popular UFC fighter also recently wrote a book called My Fight/Our Fight in which the Olympic medalist in judo and reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion talks about “her difficult path to glory.”
