McDonald’s breakfast to be served all-day starting in October

In 1993 Michael Douglass starred in “Falling Down” and his character hit a few breaking points in the film, but none as rememberable as when he tried to get breakfast at the local fast-food restaurant and he missed the deadline by just minutes.

Thanks to McDonald’s, that fear will be a thing of the past. It will be a distant memory that we talk about now and then – just like the movie “Falling Down”.

The popular fast-food company announced today that the McDonald’s breakfast menu will be available all-day long starting on October 6, 2015. This means customers can pick-up a wonderful Egg McMuffin or Big Mac whenever they want one, it won’t matter if you work 9-5 or the night-shift.

McDonald’s did indicate that the exact breakfast menu will vary in different markets, so you will have to watch your local McDonald’s menu to get the list of treats being offered at any hour. McDonald’s did callout its staple-items like the Big Mac, McNuggets and fries stating that will still be available at all of its locations, but some items will be removed to make way for breakfast items.

This all-day breakfast menu-test started with San Diego, where the program began a few months ago. The tests ran so well that McDonald’s will be rolling it out nationwide starting next month. So set your dinner to breakfast and enjoy a McMuffin with some Fries for a change.

The past few months have been hard on McDonald’s. The company announced that it plans to close up to 700 stores this year alone. This year will be the first since the 1970s that McDonald’s will close more stores than it opens. Talking about the new breakfast menu Mike Andres, president of McDonald’s U.S., said in a statement, “We’re very excited — we think this could be the next big thing.”
