Miley Cyrus announces new album at 2015 MTV Video Music Awards

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards aired on Sunday night, with super-host Miley Cyrus leading the ceremony and dropping a few surprise announcements of her own on her fans.

Inside Miley’s bag of tricks for the event were a see-through dress with balloons, a live performance and a new album that is streaming for free. Cyrus also took a moment to flashed the audience with her very publicized breasts, but it was a planned bit from the event. The flashing occurred during a live “behind-the-scenes” moment and the scene had Cyrus appearing from a black curtain and saying, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, are my t-ts out?’” It was exactly the kind of event that everyone was waiting for. It was just two years ago at the 2013 VMA Awards that Cyrus famously twerked with Robin Thicke with her foam-finger and nude ensemble.

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards ended with the unannounced performance from Cyrus. The pop-princess took the stage with a wide-array of drag queens and backup singers, all rocking out to her new song. That song will be on Miley’s new album.

Cyrus announced under a waterfall of cascading balloons on stage, “My new album, ‘Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz,’ is online for free right now.”

This will be the follow-up to the 2013 Cyrus chartbuster “Bangerz.” The new album will consist of new releases, all within a 23-track collaborative album with the Flaming Lips, Big Sean, Ariel Pink and other popular artists.

It was a fitting performance for Cyrus, who took the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards stage along with Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne just before the announcement.

All in all, social-media seemed to love Cyrus as the host. The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will release clips from the show on social-media over the next few days, well after dozens of teens upload their own favorite moments from the event to their own social-media channels.
