Next Apple event is on September 9th, iPhone 6S and iOS 9 expected
The next major Apple announcement will be released on September 9, 2015. Apple is set to unveil the new iPhone at the event, presumably called the iPhone 6S. While the exact details of the announcement are being kept under wraps, Apple did send-out media-invites for a September 9 event to journalists this afternoon, The event-invite simply stated, “Hey Siri, give us a hint.”
If you ask Siri to give you a hint she makes a joke about a hint of lime, but won’t spill the beans on the event. Apple typically does not give any indication on what the company has in story for consumers, but a few rumors have been circulating the September announcement.
The next-generation of iPhones is the most likely candidate to appear at the media-briefing, analysts predict that the iPhone 6s will look similar to the current iPhone 6 but will offer improved hardware and new features. Among the new hardware and features expected to hit the iPhone 6S are a 12 megapixel camera and the ability to record 4K video. The popular “Force Touch” feature is also expected to hit the iPhone 6S this year.
Some experts also expect Apple to finally update the Apple TV set-top box, a gadget that has been long overdue for a new installment. The current theories on the next-generation Apple TV include a model with improved hardware, a touch-enabled remote control and a full app-store expansion that will allow third-party publishers to offer content on the device.
Apple’s long awaited internet-based pay TV service won’t be at the event, the company delayed the launch of the service until at least 2016 because of licensing issues, but the project is expected to still be alive.
The event is also on 09/09 which could include the new iOS 9 installment.
If you are an iPhone holder, or expect to be one, you will want to tune into the live-stream on the Apple website on September 9, 2015.
