Disgraced Josh Duggar heads to rehab after Ashley Madison reveal
In Biblical terms the phrase is, “for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” That is probably a verse Josh Duggar should have taken to heart while preaching his moral values to the world.
The disgraced reality-star has now entered a long-term treatment facility to deal with his multitude of issues. Duggar was most recently outed as a member AshleyMadison.com, the now infamous website that helped married individuals hook-up with other married individuals for affairs. If you’ve been following along, this isn’t the first time that the Duggars have found themselves in the headlines.
The announcement that Duggar was headed to rehab was part of the latest message that the Duggar family issued to the public. “His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others,” the statement read.
The post was published on the official Duggar family website earlier today, apparently from Jim Bob and Michelle. The shocking scandal surrounding the Duggars came to a head lsat week when Josh Duggar admitted to his infidelities with the statement, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever.” Josh was referring to the years that he spent on the legislative affiliate of the Family Research Council, a program that he worked at as executive director.
It should be noted that Duggar didn’t have just one account on AshleyMadison.com, he had two for some reason. Dugger’s email, his alleged credit card number and his Grandmother’s address were all found within the data-dump following the hack on the website’s database.
The affair(s) were just part of the ongoing Duggar saga, Josh was also involved in scandal that involved the inappropriate touching of underage girls, including two of his sisters, back when he was a teenager. Although it happen when he was younger, it was not made public until recently. Josh was forced to leave the FRC after news of the inappropriate touching was revealed. That incident is what caused TLC to later canceled “19 Kids and Counting.”
The full statement from the Duggar family is listed below:
We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear. Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God–He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.”
