GTA V Rockstar Editor coming to PS4, Xbox One next month

In September Rockstar will release the Rockstar Editor on PS4 and Xbox One. The tools will be part of the next downloadable update for Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on both consoles.

Rockstar teased the new content in today’s announcement stating, “This update will also bring with it some new features for the Rockstar Editor that will be available for all three platforms including PC, along with some exciting new gameplay for GTA Online Freemode.” That new gameplay will be released over the next few weeks according to the company.

The new update will bring with it a few key features that fans will most likely want to get their hands on, including an Ambient Audio and Sound Effects Library. With the new ambient and atmospheric sound designs and a library of audio tracks, players will be able to bring their scenes to life or add sound effects from a collection of Foley and other sfx options.

A new Snapmatic Integration will allow players to export any still frame at a marker point straight to Snapmatic. This option will allow players “ultimate freedom when searching for that perfect camera angle,” according to the company.

The new Director Mode Updates allow an enlarged minimap with location blips to highlight preset locations. Players can also freeze chosen time of day settings and the ability to spawn air and water vehicles with the new mode.

The new Copy and Paste Marker Properties will allow players to easily copy and paste their audio settings from any marker to another marker in the clip, adding invaluable efficiency to their go-to editing techniques.

There will also be more fonts to choose from, so players will be able to choose from a wider-array of style options for their titles and credits. The company stated that they will be “tripling the library of available fonts with new styles.”
