Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe is changing

In the future, after the robots have taken over the world and we are forced to live under the protective dome shields that separate our over-populated cities from then wastelands, the world will be divided into two groups; those that love PSL and those that do not.

For the large portion of our current population that flocks to Starbucks to satisfy their Pumpkin Spice Latte cravings the minute the air cools, we have some terrific news for you. Starbucks is adding real pumpkin to the PSL business.

Peter Dukes wrote on the official Starbucks blog today, “After hearing from customers and partners about ingredients, we took another look at this beverage and why we created it so many years ago. It was simple – espresso, perfectly steamed milk, warm fall spices with delicious flavor of pumpkin pie that reminds you of the cool, crisp days of autumn. So, with that great taste you know and love, the PSL returns this fall, and this time it will be made with real pumpkin and without caramel coloring.”

That’s right, no caramel coloring and actual pumpkins, the world is now complete.

Pumpkin Spice Flavored Sauce (Sugar, Condensed Skim Milk, Pumpkin Puree, Contains 2% or Less of Fruit and Vegetable Juice for Color, Natural Flavors, Annatto (Color), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Salt)
Whipped Cream (Light Whipping Cream [Cream, Mono and Diglycerides, Carrageenan])
Starbucks Vanilla Syrup (Sugar, Water, Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Citric Acid)

So this fall when you head to Starbucks for your fix, remember to savor the new pumpkin addition and try not to miss the caramel coloring from days gone by.
